lichtzeitraum, biennale vennice

Our entire world is structured by light and shade, time and rhythm, emotion and perception. In lichtzeitraum by Ueberholz it is precisely this spatial perception that is made tangible through light, music and rhythm. Different lighting phases create wide spaces making the vastness tangible or other narrow, close spaces that enclose and restrict you. A window arrangement along the back of the room, which matches the changing spatial suggestion perfectly, serves as a striking design element. The aim of projects by Ueberholz is to give the architecture a feeling of permanence and stability.

Dee

The DEE pendants are two pendants sharing the same metal top, dimensioning and form factor. The DEE glass version is the more modern version of the two with the dusted part of the glass only being in the bottom part. It mimes a kind of flowfeeling, when the pendant is hung in a room, looking almost like mist caught in a bowl. The DEE Metal is the more contemporary version of the two. A classic metal shade is distributing the light down and the opalized diffuser is making sure the light is soft and comfortably glowing, which makes the metal version useful and pleasant hanging over any table.

Sun Tile

The Tile Lighting Concept is born from a Portuguese traditional element, the tile. Inspired by an 19th century tile facade building with bidimensional circular graphics, gave rise to a tridimensional interpretation of anthropomorphic character, through a smooth spherical surface. Tower, Horizon and Level models are designed as interior lighting elements, in vertical position, suspension or fixed to the wall. Inside, the latest led technology equiped with dimmer and optional control via Bluetooth, allows a strict control of the light source making possible to adapt to any environment.

CaoHeJing KeHui

The concept of One Cube – One Reflection was the source of inspiration in façade lighting of a 20-floor commercial office tower in CaoHeJing, Shanghai. With the use of specialized, 360 degree LED projectors strategically mounted at the base of each bay, the lighting design team produced a glowing lit latticework of squares, making the building’s aluminum facade appear as if it has been lit from within. A blue-lit band, positioned on the 10th floor, halves the design into 2, enhancing the concept of reflection, as the lighting effects at the top part of the building mirrors that of the bottom.
