New Century Resort Ningbo Shiqifang

The New Century Resort Ningbo Shiqifang hotel lies in Xiepu, a small coastal town in the Zhenhai District of Ningbo, China. Covering an area of 50,000 m2, it was built on an ancient architectural complex named Zhengshi Shiqifang and has a building area of about 40,000 m2 with 6 guestroom sections and 116 guestrooms. Being the largest and most intact ancient architectural community of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China with Ma Tau wallwatts, traditional Chinese courtyards, ancestral halls, opera stages, stone alleys and old houses, this complex is a cultural treasure of the Zhejiang Province.

Life Begins With Light

Light illuminates the environment. It is the sun in the dark. It can turn dead to alive, hopeless to hopeful, and cold to warm. Imagine the user is in dark, he/she can do nothing and he/she is nothing. When the user switches on the lamp, the light glow and he/she will feel that life grow as well. So he/she will not be scared by the dark anymore. The LIFE lamp is inspired by the values of light. When the user switches on the lamp, the sperm will swim towards the egg, the light will glow when they meet. It symbolizes "life begins with light".

Flame

M Lamp

The M lamp is a wireless task light that can be transported anywhere within the home, office and in between. It stands at 9", projects up to 3,000 lux of warm light from its movable head. This is approximately equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. In its standard mode the Lamp’s dimmable LED will emit 1,000 lux of light for more than 18 hours on a single charge.

Tensegrity Space Frame
