Farol

Created by Katia Martins and Tiago Russo, Farol is the materialization of years of studies and tests in order to achieve a great lighting solution, environment-friendly, and that could create the most visual impact with minimalist lines and bold, neutral colours. A mixture of steel and cork, of contemporary lines and heritage, Farol relies on its angular geometry and central fixing to create the most impact with no visible components apart from the main conical shaping. A lamp made to be combined with others, Farol unleashes great visual impact recurring only to its minimal, angled geometry.

2D Lantern

The 2D urban lantern has only two dimensions, it has no depth, it only develops on a flat surface, as if it were a drawing written in the sky. Its shape is visible and invisible depending on how the designers places it in the space. An element that manifests its presence only when it lights up, integrating discreetly into the urban context. Urban lanterns contribute to giving cities an identity, they are signs that remain imprinted in the culture of collective memory, becoming part of the narration of urban life.

Enigma

Insight is a pendant lamp designed for accent lighting in interiors. The luminaire consists of a cylindrical metal base that holds the LED light source, combined with semi-circular elements. An adjustment system at the top changes the orientation of the light beam in the vertical direction. A cable and a wire allow the direction of the light to be set horizontally during installation. The suspension keeps the lamp static and can be adjusted in height. Ceiling cups with magnetic fixings are used, so no visible fasteners or bolts are needed.

Shangri-la Shougang Park

Shangri-la Shougang Park is a lighting design for a hotel in Beijing. The hotel stands at the core of Shougang Park, on the site of a former power generation plant that once supplied energy for steel production. The complex covers 63,600 square meters and holds 283 guest rooms. LED light sources are used across all indoor and outdoor spaces, and the lighting scenes change with the time of day. Warm color temperature light creates a comfortable environment and relates the hotel to the surrounding buildings of the park at night.

Cling

Cling is a floor lamp by Robert Dabi. Emerging from the floor plate, the pole seamlessly wraps around a spotless LED ring made of a slim aluminium profile in a diameter of 55 cm. Within the area between pole and the frame holding the light ring, a flexible section is incorporated. This makes it possible to freely move or tilt the ring and thereby adapt the appearance of the lamp to its' surrounding. Robert constructed the lamp with stability in mind – heavy lower steel parts and top aluminium parts sum up to only 2,5 kg of weight.

Obj01

Obj01 is a table lamp made from a single sheet of raw metal, which can be steel, stainless steel or brass. The sheet is cut by laser and assembled by hand with a rubber hammer, without welded joints. Simple geometric shapes form the lamp: a rectangle, a circle and a cylinder that holds the LED light source. The circle, once cut out, becomes the shade. The metal surface is polished by hand and sealed with wax. An integrated touch dimmer uses the conductive body, so touching any side switches the light and sets the brightness. The lamp measures 38 x 22 x 7 cm.
